Stefano Donnarumma: Terna’s all indicators improved in spite of the COVID-19

Stefano Donnarumma, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Terna, has presented the results of the first half of 2020, which were examined and approved by the Board of Directors. During the first half of the year, all indicators improved in spite of the covid-19 emergency. In particular, the Group strongly accelerated construction activity starting in phase 2 of the health emergency (in June and July). Revenues of the first half of 2020 registered an increase of € 85.3 million (+7.8%) compared to the same period in 2019, amounting to € 1,183.1 million. EBITDA (Gross Operating Profit) marked an increase of € 29.8 million (+3.5%), standing at € 876.0 million compared to € 846.2 million in the first half of 2019. EBIT (Operating Profit) also had an increase of +2.9%, standing at € 573.7 million, compared to the € 557.5 million of the first six months of 2019. Profit before taxes (+3.1%), income tax expense (+3.1%), Group net profit (+3,0%) also improved, in spite of the lockdown period. The increase of Terna Group Capex in the first six months of 2020, standing at 428.0 million, compared to the € 396.3 million of the same period of 2019 (+8%), confirms Group’s ability to pursue its objectives. The Group led by Stefano Donnarumma improved also employees, who at the end of June 2020 were 4,668, up by 378 compared to 31 December 2019.
