One year ago, Gianpietro Benedetti, the President of one of the world’s leading manufacturers of machinery and plants for the metallurgical industry, Danieli Group, passed away. The CEO of the multinational company based in Buttrio, Giacomo Mareschi Danieli, commemorates the engineer on the anniversary of his death.

“Engineer Benedetti was a great guide for all of us, and I was fortunate to hold a leadership role by his side for seven years, absorbing all his passion and knowledge” stated the CEO, recalling the immense passion he had for young people, technology and the community — values that always guided the President throughout his leadership. This led him to support countless initiatives in education and in support of local community. “He dedicated a lot of effort to schools and training, both within the company and outside”, remarked Giacomo Mareschi Danieli.

Gianpietro Benedetti was a key figure for Danieli Group. He joined the Buttrio company in 1961, shortly after earning his diploma. He started as a design engineer and then he started climbing the corporate ranks until becoming Chairman of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Board in 2017. During his tenure, he upheld the company’s core values, guiding a path of innovation and continuous growth. His dedication to education was particularly significant: under his leadership, Danieli promoted several projects and collaborations aimed at providing the local community and its young people with the skills needed to thrive in the modern economy. The program at ITS Malignani in Udine, now an excellence training hub, is a testament to this commitment.
