Sebastien Clamorgan (Venia International): investment activities in the port management sector

Aimed at developing a new, ultra-modern port and free zone in Nigeria, the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone is a project developed through a partnership between private entities, and is overseen by the Nigerian Port Authorities. The project is among the partnerships and joint ventures built by Venia International, the global consulting and investment firm led by Sebastien Clamorgan.

With the ambition of creating a place for development in Nigeria, the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone project aims at creating one of the largest full-service port in Africa. Located sixty kilometres from Lagos, it is being developed through a partnership between private entities and, for this purpose, many successful companies in Nigeria have been brought together in a consortium. The ambition is to partner with business leaders and the Nigerian Government to support a sustainable growth in the area. Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone is as well designed to allow companies to take advantage of worldwide assets and expertise while conducting business on a local level. The project is among the initiatives of Venia International in the port management field: the firm founded and owned by Sebastien Clamorgan, indeed, is active in building partnerships and joint ventures across multiple sectors of the industry, both in Africa and Europe. In the case of the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone project, Venia International played the role of deal maker, broker and representative of a stakeholder’ interests, confirming once again its leading role in supporting the development of business activities, with a special focus on Africa and the Middle East. Another big partnership is the one built with the Nigerian restaurant group Eat’n’go: dedicated to bringing Food & Beverage brands to Africa, Eat’n’go became the exclusive master franchisee for big companies the likes of Domino’s Pizza Nigeria, a $6 billion fast food giant, and Cold Stone Creamery, a $1.5 billion company in the ice cream business, and, also thanks to the support provided by Venia International, it became the premier food operator in Africa.
