2020 will be a year of extremely challenging targets. The Managing Director and General Manager of Terna, the Italian high-voltage grid company, is certain of this. According to Terna’s CEO, the energy transition underway internationally requires a concerted effort that focuses on decarbonisation, energy efficiency, research, innovation and the competitiveness of the Italian energy system. A central role, in such a context, will be played in the area of electricity, with Terna set to play its part as a system operator: “We have the fundamental task of analysing and understanding the trends and potential evolution scenarios to ensure that energy transition will turn into a great opportunity for investment and development”, said CEO and GM Luigi Ferraris.
